Dobyns Bennett vs William Blount.

DB has a very good team this year. But! They better not underestimate William Blount. William Blount could easily be 9-1 right now. They beat Oak Ridge. They lost 3 games in the last minute. WB had Ooltewah,McMinn County and Farragut beat.Maryville was the only team to really spank WB.

If any of you guys go watch DB friday night keep an eye on the Walker brothers. Darren and TJ Walker are studs. Darren is a 6'3 215lbs running back and defensive end. He is a senior. TJ plays the same positions and is the same size.He is a junior. Darren wears #25 TJ wears #20. WB has a very good running game. Their passing game is subpar.

Dang, I'd hate to see DB get put out in the first couple of rounds again this season!

They tear through the regular season and fold in the playoffs.

Yeah, I think DB's main problem is competition. Seems the Knox. area schools play tougher competition than DB, and while the Indians are as talented they aren't used to getting smacked in the mouth due to weak NE TN schools for the most part. Thus the Knox. schools can weather a tougher than usual opponent. But who knows, this may be DB's year. They are indeed talented.

Yes, and think back about 4 years ago I guess when DB should have had it "locked up" and I do believe it was a 5-5 WB team that came in running the bone and smacked DB around like 34-6 or something in the first round.

DB uses its athleticism, but their not overly big, or strong on their offensive, or defensive fronts too often. Athleticism is nice, but if your not too strong, and you can't throw a lick, you tend to get your butt kicked against a team who will smack you in the mouth occasionally.

I think the score in that game was 25-19. Reece McMahan was the quarterback for William Blount. McMahan was hurt most of the year. WB was 6-0 with him in the lineup. 0-6 without him.

Anyone who follows Lady Vol Basketball Has probably heard of Cait McMahan. She is a freshman guard from Heritage High School. She is the younger sister of Reece McMahan. Their dad was the William Blount coach back in 2001. He quit to watch Cait play high school basketball. He also took a teaching job at Heritage.

Re: Dobyns Bennett vs William Blount.

William Blount proved that Blount County football is pretty darn good. With Scott Meadows as a coach I expect them to continue to be strong. Besides Alcoa. WB was the strongest team Maryville played.William Blount has a shot of beating Farragut. They should have beaten Farragut the first time. I think William Blount has a shot of advancing to the semifinals. They could beat Sevier County and Ooltewah. They beat Sevier County earlier this season. They lost in the last minute to Ooltewah earlier this season. I don't think none of those teams can beat Riverdale.

The other 2 Blount County teams in the playoffs are doing fine. Maryville played awful but still won over Brainerd. Maryville had 6 turnovers. Brainerd scooped up 2 fumbles and ran them in for touchdowns. If Maryville plays like that again they will get beat against Rhea County. If Maryville plays like they did in the regular season they should beat Rhea County.I expect Maryville to play better. I can promise you George Quarles will work those boys hard in practice this week. Red Bank out of Chattanooga is 11-0 so far this season. I think Maryville will end up playing those guys.Red Bank has only given up 48 points this season.Maryville has a hard road ahead of them.

Alcoa will win the 2A State title. They are killing teams right now. Alcoa beat Cumberland Gap 67-0. The last 2 quarters were 8 minute long with a running clock. It was 55-0 at halftime. Alcoa plays CAK this week. CAK is in Alcoa's region. Alcoa beat CAK earlier this year 42-0. That was Alcoa's closest region game this year. Most 2A teams have around 35-40 players. Counting Alcoa's freshmen they have around 80-90 kids out for football. They are way deeper and way more talented than other 2A schools in East Tennessee.2A football in East Tennessee is weak.

Some Dobyns Bennett fans on coachT are wanting Graham Clarks head on a platter. They also said that DB needs to drop teams like Sullivan South,North,Elizabethon and TN High. They want DB to start playing teams like Maryville,Alcoa,Riverdale and some big private schools. They think this will help them prepare for the playoffs better.

I saw that Maryville had a struggle in their game. How many titles are they going for now? How many in a row?

Maryville is going for 3 in a row. Alcoa is going for 3 in a row. Maryville overlooked Brainerd I believe. I expect Maryville to play much better this friday.
